Provoking Is Unwise And Irresponsible Behavior

On the paranormal television shows, we see the tendency of the "investigators" to engage in provoking entities that are suspected of being at the location they are investigating in an effort to get responses and as a result, some paranormal teams have picked up on it and have made provocation a part of their investigative process. This is unwise, irresponsible, and dangerous and demonstrates a lack of concern for the provoker's safety, the safety of the rest of the team, and the safety of the client who has to deal with the aftermath after the team leaves.I've seen posts of people bragging about provoking while in cemeteries in an effort to get evp responses. Again, this is unwise, irresponsible behavior and demonstrates a lack of respect for the dead.

Faked Photos

The paranormal field is often inundated with photos of purported paranormal activity that are so obviously fakes. One recent one I saw also had the person's laptop in the picture, and the laptop had Photoshop open and the faked picture could be seen! Others are done with smartphone apps that insert "ghosts" into your pictures. Please take note that we are very much aware of how these fakes are produced and if you submit a fake as evidence, you are not fooling anyone but yourself and making yourself look very stupid.

"Orbs" and Faces

Often a so-called orb will have what appears to be a "face" and this convinces the uninformed that these orbs are spirits. However, the "faces" you think you are seeing on the orbs are nothing more than matrixing, also known as pareidolia. This occurs because the brain tries to make sense out of random shapes. This is why you see familiar shapes in the clouds or Jesus on a piece of toast.

There Are No Instruments That Detect Ghosts

Contrary to what some believe and may have even heard on TV, there are no instruments that specifically detect ghosts. The instruments we use only measure changes in the environment that could indicate the possible presence of a ghost. If anyone tells you that they have equipment that detects ghosts, they are lying to you.

Ghost Apps

There are many ghost apps available for Android and iPhone and they are being used to try to fool paranormal investigators. If you are one of those using them to try to fool us, please stop. You are not fooling any of us because we are very much aware of the apps and we even have them on our devices for the purpose of comparing supposed pictures of ghosts and your attempts to fool us are only going to result in you embarrassing yourself.

Sensationalism

Sensationalism does nothing to promote paranormal research in a positive way. Sensationalism only serves to harm the study of the paranormal. Fake reports of ghosts on sites that thrive on fakery and sensationalism are in my opinion, the paranormal equivalent of fake news tabloids such as The Weekly World News, and why people would rather ooh and ahh over the fake articles rather than use logic and common sense is beyond me. Maybe they live such mundane lives that the sensationalist and fake articles are all they have to look forward to. I know some sure get bent out of shape when the fakery is revealed. I'm not interested in pictures of orbs or smoke, nor am I interested in cgi videos of ghosts, aliens, ufos, bigfoot, fairies, etc..

Not Everything That Appears Paranormal Is!

I am amazed at the number of people who desperately want something to be paranormal, when it obviously isn't. Take orbs for example: orbs are dust particles, water droplets or insects, yet when people hear this, they get very irate and insist they caught something paranormal on their digital camera. Another thing is matrixing, also known as paredoilia in which the mind sees familiar shapes. When matrixing is obvious and pointed out, people get upset and insist they caught an image of a ghost or demon! Folks, not everything that appears to be paranormal, is paranormal. Instead of assuming something is paranormal, it is wise to consider the logical, common sense explanations and rule them out before even considering something to be paranormal.

Ghosts Are Not Demons!

I am amazed at the ignorance displayed by many Christians who believe that ghosts are actually demons. In the first place, the Bible says no such thing, and in the second place, Jesus never said any such thing. The idea that ghosts are demons is a doctrine of men that has no scriptural basis whatsoever! It is a sad truth that many Christians spend very little, if any time reading/studying the Bible for themselves and are unaware that the Bible mentions ghosts many times. Jesus Himself was thought to be a ghost by His own disciples who did not recognize Him when He was walking on the water toward them (Matthew 14:22-26; Mark 6:45-52). Because the average Christian spends so little, if any time in the Bible, when they are told by their minister or Sunday school teacher that ghosts are actually demons impersonating the dead, they accept it without giving it any thought and are astonished to find out that ghosts are mentioned in the Bible when it is shown to them. I also note that not once did Jesus ever say that ghosts are demons and He certainly had plenty of opportunity to do so. At Luke 24:36-43, Jesus was regarded as a ghost by His followers and He had to partake of material food and be touched to convince them that He wasn't! Whatever happened to following the noble example of the ancient Boreans who examined the scriptures daily to see if what they were being taught was actually what the scriptures taught (Acts 17:11)? Christians have gotten spiritually lazy and instead of studying the Bible for themselves to see what it teaches on any given subject, they take the word of their minister or Sunday school teacher as gospel, and this lazy attitude will get Christians in trouble every time. Each and every one of us as Christians are responsible for reading/studying the Word of God for ourselves. Your minister, Sunday school teacher, etc., cannot do it for you. For those self-proclaimed "Bible scholars" out there who insist that ghosts are actually demons, I would challenge you to show me where the Bible says so! I promise, you will not find it in the Bible! Now having said that, there have been instances where a demon impersonated a deceased love one. This is why demons are also known as "familiar spirits." These instances of impersonation are rare, but that does not mean or prove that ghosts are actually demons. In order for a demon to impersonate/pretend to be a ghost, then ghosts must of necessity be real for you cannot impersonate that which does not exist. A demon is still a demon even if it pretends to be ghost.

Orbs

I do not put much, if any, stock in orbs. Orbs are almost always dust particles or insects that show up when a picture is taken with a digital camera.

A genuine orb would be seen with the naked eye and would be self-illuminating, but even then, that does not mean the orb is a spirit manifesting as some claim. Rather, it could be an electrical discharge or even ball lightning.

Ouija Boards

The subject of Ouija boards often comes up. In fact on Facebook on one of the Paranormal pages I subscribe to, there are at last count a dozen or more different threads on the subject of Ouija boards. My take on them is that one should not mess with them. They should be left alone, period. They open portals that allow things to come through that you really do not want to mess with. Even though it is marketed as a "game," it is no game. By marketing the Ouija board as an innocent game, you are being lured into messing with something sinister - something that is best left alone. These boards can lead to demonic oppression and possession. Those who claim they are safe to play around with are deceiving themselves.

Blood Moon

We recently had what is known as Blood Moon event. In the paranormal world a Blood Moon is is said to open a portal to the other side, thus allowing those on the other side to come into our world which would also increase paranormal activity. I have been on investigations during a Blood Moon and have not personally substantiated the theory that paranormal activity increases during one. Some people have reported seeing departed loved ones during a Blood Moon, but I have yet to experience this myself.

Demons

Demons are mentioned in the Bible and other religious literature. They are popularized by Hollywood and are depicted as being more powerful than they really are. Certain paranormal TV shows dwell on demons more than they should and seem to find them everywhere they investigate. These shows foolishly and in my opinion, irresponsibly depict investigators intentionally provoking demons resulting in being attacked by them and in some instances being possessed by them. These same shows often depict paranormal investigators performing rituals to summon demons, which again, I believe to be foolish and irresponsible.  Just who and what are demons anyway? A number of theories as to who and what they are abound, but from a Christian standpoint, there are two primary views: (1). They are fallen angels who rebelled with satan and were expelled from heaven. (2). They are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim who were destroyed in Noah's Flood. I tend to disagree with the first view since the Bible states that the fallen angels are jailed in a region of Sheol/Hades known as Tartarus (2 Peter 2:4). I believe they are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim who perished in Noah's Flood. Just who were the Nephilim? The Nephilim were the offspring of  angels who left their first estate (Jude 1:6) and mated with human women. These offspring came to be known as "men of renown" (Genesis 6:4) and are the source of ancient legends of gods mating with human women and producing half god/half human offspring such the Greek Hercules. The Nephilim were giants and possessed superhuman strength and abilities due to their angelic heritage. The Nephilim were evil. It would seem that after Noah's Flood some angels again mated with human women and produced more Nephilim for we read about them again in Numbers 13:30-33.  That the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim are demons is further attested in the Book of Enoch. Demons, as I mentioned earlier are evil and are mankind's spiritual enemy. Demons are also referred to in the Bible as "familiar spirits" (Leviticus 19:31; 20:6, 27; 1 Chronicles 10:13;  2Kings 21:6; Isaiah 8:19; 19:3) because they will sometimes pretend to be a deceased friend or loved one.

Sorry Nothing Has Been Added Lately

I apologize for not updating my paranormal blog lately. I have not been doing any investigations lately due to my bad knee giving out on me at inopertune times, but I promise to start posting again.
